Best pancakes out there hands down! Frank is always our waiter and he always takes care of my family and I.

The food and coffee was good. Not the best I've ever had. Just your average American Diner food and coffee. Waited in line outside for about 30 minutes, and you can tell that they want you in and out as quickly as possible. Reaching over you while eating to take away plates, and putting the check on the table while still eating is quite rude to be honest. Potentially would go back in the future, but definitely not worth queuing outside for 30 minutes.

Great food! Was crowded but was seated rather quickly. There was also a small mess up with our order but they corrected it quickly. Still worth 5 stars!

Food was great and the person waiting on us was amazing as well. Well worth the 25 minute wait in line. Just get in line for this place! Apple Pancakes were the best ever.

Portions are super big but food is great. You could share if you don't want to have a food coma. Omelettes are amazing.

Very good food and service. San Diego expensive. They make their own corn syrup based "maple" syrup--how can a pancake house not have real maple syrup?

Great food, large portions, beautiful presentation. There seems to be a line to get in daily but the food is worth the wait. We went two days in a row actually service was much better the first day. Would have given 5 stars had it been great service both days. Highly recomend the baked pancakes or omelets delicious. My daughter loved her crepes as well. The avocado toast flight was also delicious! Great restaurant

My son and I were in San Diego and came across this restaurant in google maps. We then went and were surprised by the great food. The coffee is impressively good and the food is quality just like home. Our server was very funny. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Sorry for the confusion on the original review looks like I responded I in the wrong reply box. My visit to your pancake house was phenomenal. Got there before you opened as I had heard it gets pretty busy. After visiting I understand why. Great food with great service. Even the other customers we're extremely friendly. Glad we found the place. Best of luck on your business future

My meal was wonderful. I tried the cinnamon pancake, which is one of their specialties. It was well worth the wait. When it came out, it was the size of a ball, but as it cooled down it deflated. This yummy pancake was so good no syrup was needed. My husband was very impressed with his food as well.

Fantastic food and service. Yes, it can be a bit of a wait to get in (up to 30 minutes), but itÒ€ℒs worth it. One of the most efficient restaurants IÒ€ℒve ever been to. They bring you menus while waiting in line, then take your order right after being seated. Our food was out within minutes and everything was cooked perfectly. The portions were just the right size. Our waiter was attentive, constantly filling drinks and checking to see if we needed anything else. Some people might find the seating a bit cramped (at least on the patio where we sat) it almost seems like youÒ€ℒre sitting with the table next to you, but it didnÒ€ℒt bother us.Definitely will be back. Our wait time was about 30 minutes, but once seated we were done eating and out of there in about another 30 minutes.

This is a regular breakfast spot for us and normally sit outside. Just couldn't stomach it last Friday though; human fecal musk was wafting in from somewhere; probably the park. I won't ding their rep for that as the problem was solved by dining inside. As always food was great but our server abandoned us 2/3 through. Again, that doesn't change my rating because of their batting average.Still waiting to meet Mr. Walker.

Our favorite breakfast spot in San Diego. It's a little easier to get a table now that they've opened some more locations. Great coffee, extremely quick service, and the best pancakes on the planet.

This restaurant has great ambiance and heavenly magical food. The customer service is very professional and friendly. They pay attention to their customers well and always ask for feedback. The restaurant is very cozy and private. This is one of the best restaurants in my area that offers delicious foods at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Incredible food! Most amazing bacon I have ever had. My family loved their food and I loved my Dutch baby, big enough for two people. Lots of food that all tastes incredible.

This place is a must when in San Diego and you are crawling for a calorie rich breakfast ... The place has everything you would expect to get in an all American pancake house ... For a European the servings are just too big , but you don't wanna miss the AppleCake.. make me thing about Christmas as a child with the sweet taste of cinnamon.. yummie (the Coffey as so many places in the US needs work) service was kind and efficient.. be there before 08.00 to best the line , a line that does build up fast and last throughout the whole day ..

My wife and I were in San Diego for our anniversary. looking for a good place for breakfast, we came here. I have to say that we will definitely be back. might have been a little pricey for a breakfast joint, but definitely worth every penny. We went with the basic ham and cheese omelet and I have to say it was the best I'd ever had. the service was spectacular and some of the best coffee ever. I had to give compliments to the manager and who did they send over, but Mr Walker himself. great food great experience highly recommended.

IÒ€ℒm in so much delightedness knowing that my special day was held in this famous restaurant straight next to the park. It amazed me more when they got plenty of foods, desserts, and beverages that could content to my desires. Everything was classic and vintage, but it was pretty good to look at. Because of this amazing place, IÒ€ℒm bored with going home. Perhaps, the waitress and the waiter were accommodating to all of my requests. They got nice treatment to their customers that made me recommend their restaurant to all. Till next time!

We love this place, it is great service and the food is great. The price is decent and the line does get long. We usually wait about 20 minutes in line, but they do a great job of keeping you moving.

10 minute wait outside, your entire party has to be present before getting seated. Not a big place inside, a little crowded. Once inside service is fast and orders come out quickly. I had the french toast, recommended! Go early, when we left the restaurent the line was long.

There was a short but quick line when I arrived which was a good first impression for a Monday to be so busy. I quickly got a table, and considering how busy they were all of the servers were very attentive! The food was delicious and Liz was my server this morning, she was very friendly and even with how busy they were she found opportunities to have a little chat with me here and there. I will definitely revisit anytime I am back in town!

Very good food, nice variety but pricey dishes: 6 small pancake flight but all pancakes were plain, so choice of toppings $16, for a few pecans, 2 strawberries & maybe 1/2 banana? I was expecting flavored pancakes. Heck of a profit margin. Just choose wisely. Also server was almost condescending...maybe it was just him. Recommended tip was 18%, NO! You need to earn that.

It was good but really just another trendy breakfast place. Good, but not good enough to warrant the hour or so wait to get in on a weekend.

Sooo good! Super delicious and unique pancakes. I tried a kind of cinnamon pancake. The only problem with this place was that we had to wait in line for like an hour. However, this was during SDCC so I'm sure it's much less busy during regular times of the year.

I visited Richard WalkerÒ€ℒs Pancake House on a Monday morning around 9:30AM. There was no line at all! I had the apple pancake which was like an apple pie on top of a pancake. It was absolutely delightful! They have very good coffee, also. My waiter informed me their coffee beans come from Seattle. The staff was extremely pleasant and gracious. The space is small with one unisex bathroom which I noticed was difficult for moms with small children at times. Nevertheless, IÒ€ℒd certainly have a meal here again.

In my wife and my opinion. WalkerÒ€ℒs is by far the BEST breakfast place in SD. The menu not only includes the tradition American classics...it also features specialty pancakes, omelettes and some one of a kind creations. We have eaten at all their properties, however, downtown is our favorite. BE PREPARED TO WAIT, but then again, you will be with the best food ever. PS. If you are a coffee drinker theirs is single source etc and is great.

They always serve great food! It is so good and fresh! Plus, the chef does not mind preparing my food the way I want it. Also, they have an extensive menu. They even offer daily specials which include a lot concerning food. My favorite dish is orange chicken and Mongolian chicken. They even offer many vegetarian dishes here. So, don't just wish to taste it. Come and try!

We have been visiting this restaurant for the past 15 years. It has always been a good restaurant to visit for breakfast in the morning. Sometimes there is a line to get seated on the weekend. On this trip I ordered the Santa Fe Omelette with hash browns on the side. The coffee is strong and is tasty. The Omelette was made to perfection. The hash browns were a bit oily. There was residue of oil at the bottom left them a bit soggy. All said a good restaurant to visit.

Baked apple pancake was good but did not live up to the hype. Only one restroom that is right in front of the restaurant and the line is never ending running right next to several tables. People stood waiting right next to mine the hole time I ate. The service was fantastic.

Wonderful breakfast! We were lucky and able to walk right in for breakfast however when we left there was a line out the door so IÒ€ℒd recommend going early! Our server was friendly and nice. The menu is extensive and you seem to really get a lot of food for your money! I had the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of bacon. Both were excellent and I had pancakes to take home! I would definitely return here!

Richards is THE place to go to for a relaxing breakfast. The ambiance breathes class and relaxation in a comfy cafe which is an incredible restaurant. Very fresh ingredients with a super friendly staff. Go early because the demand for the quality food is high and that leads to a more noisier environment later in the morning. I love this place.

The Mediterranean omelette was delicious. We split the order with a side of pancakes between two of us. The breakfast was so good that we came back every morning that we were in town for a conference. One day I tried and apple baked pancakes which were delicious as well. This place deserves its 5 * rating. I'll be back whenever in the San Diego area.

These guys have it down. The long line is worth it and goes pretty quickly all things considering. Everything on the menu is good, including the standard coffee. Got raspberry crepes and a Dutch baby and they were divine. They have generous portions for each person, excellent customer service, and a comfortable patio (which I preferred to being inside, seemed a little quieter even though we did have a ton of people watching us from the line across the sidewalk). Prices were reasonable too. Not as cheap as Denny's but the food is better. We walked from our hotel but it seems like there is street parking around the area. I'll be back next time I'm in San Diego.

If long waits in line are not for you, do not come here on a weekend or crowded day. This place is small and fills up fast, so there is always a long line outside, which moves decently fast. Your order is taken in line for a large party and when you sit down the food is almost immediately served to you. Having been my second time, I had high expectations as it is remembered fondly and it lives up to them. The pancakes are extremely light and fluffy and the servings are very generous. They have many gluten free and other dietary restriction options, and are accommodating to any changes. A must go to in San Diego for a quality breakfast.

No. Don't think so.

If you like sweets, I recommend any of the other dishes suggested, and the Crepes in particular are my absolute faves. But if sweet isn't your thing or you're not in the mood for it, then try the eggs benedict dishes or something with the potatoes and sausage. You just can't go wrong here. ?
